The Real Deal
It’s 3 am in the morning. The kettle is on, the tea flowing, I’m wrapped up snug in a blanket whilst my husband and daughter sleep, tap tap tapping away writing this to you.
But I’ve been sat here for 2 hours. Googling; ‘how to blog’ ‘ blogging for dummies’ thinking what am I doing, I can’t do this, I’m not a blogger, this isn’t me.
BINGO, lightbulb moment. That’s what I can talk to you about!
None of this was me, being a professional network marketer wasn’t me, never in a zillion years did I ever think I would ‘ NETWORK’ with people, I mean come on, I could only just about hold down a phone call to my friends, and put me in a room with a group of strangers and bye bye Sam, I’d disappear into the background.
You see, I’ve always been shy, as a child i used to hide behind my mother’s leg, covering my face if anyone looked at me wanting the ground to swallow me up and if anyone spoke to me, well, the tears would soon flow.
As an adult it didn’t get much better, I got through life, put myself through university and a successful nursing career but ‘ shyness’ has always followed me. So to do any of this is totally out of my comfort zone.
But nothing ever grows when you’re comfortable. It’s the adventure zone you want to jump into and network marketing has proven to be the best adventure I have ever been on.
You see, when I got started in July 2013 every part of the industry was new to me, I had to learn new skills, be open to change, want to push myself in areas I never knew needed to be pushed and most of all WANT to grow as a person.
You may be asking:
- How can a shy person be a success in network marketing?
- If you don’t like talking to people how can you ‘ Network’ ?
I used to think the same, I’m sure alot of my friends still do think the same, but of course you can. As now you can’t get me off the phone, I love hosting training, coaching teams and being on stage as much as it was a big fear years down the line, I LOVE IT.
But it wasn’t easy. There have been tears and tantrums and massive epic fails (falling off stage crying is just one of them, not a good look in front of 150 budding entrepreneurs).
Why do it then?
Because I have a reason to change. The desire to spend time with my daughter, the need to work flexibly, the want for a better lifestyle.
All of this drove me to not just jump out of comfort zone but LEAP in the adventure zone.
You see I believe, that if you find what’s important to you, you attach value to it and some raw emotion you can do anything you put your mind to.
Blogging is my new challenge. I’m looking forward to embracing this with you, sharing my experiences, lessons learnt and giving you an insight into what it takes to become a pro network marketer, plus have some fun together.
My first success tip is to always remember that developing a business isn’t easy, it’s not supposed to be. If it was everyone would do it. However, if you’re prepared to do things you’ve never done before – you can be hugely successful.
Another tip is to live a little & grow some balls! Challenge yourself to see what you’re really capable of!? At the same time you’ll have a bucket load of fun along the way. If you’re willing to do this then network marketing is for you.
Go after the life you deserve, it doesn’t matter where you came from, it’s where you’re going that counts.
Success is yours…
